Our work for disadvantaged women
We provide practical and emotional support to Black migrant women and ensure that they are able to make well informed choices about their future.
Our service includes the provision of general information, advice, and guidance on issues such as welfare benefits, housing, healthcare and helps victims of domestic violence and abuse in securing safe housing and accessing counseling and legal advice through advocacy work and referrals.
Our project works closely with local, statutory and non-statutory bodies, with the aim of delivering measurable outcomes and creating best practice serving the needs of black migrant women.
We support minority ethnic women on a range of issues including:
- Welfare benefits – Information on rights, help with welfare benefits application
- Housing – Informaion on options available, social housing application homelessness and evictions
- Education and vocational training – We help women take advantage of educational and training opportunities available to improve their employment prospects
- Employment – support for women to access the job market
- Workshops programs – We deliver workshops for black women on a range of issues including, educational, training and employment opportunities, jobsearch, domestic violence, parenting, CV writing, money management
- Empowerment – Support for women in crisis, individual growth and success; leadership and career planning; mentorship; and advocacy
- Mentorship – helps you stay on track with your goals
Our training classes for minority women
- Esol – classes are designed for those whose first language is not English.
- Computing courses – for beginners or intermediate level – How to use a computer, Apllications (Microsof Word, Excel, Access)
- Internet – How to surf the internet, online services and social medias
- CV – Help with CV writing and covering letters
- Integration and Inclusion: reducing isolation, promoting interaction and integration

- Family get together – We organise families gathering events to create opportunities for families and children to socialise with other community members
