Befriending service

The service provides a listening ear and a caring, sensitive approach to the emotional and practical needs of older people.

We provide companionship and friendship for lonely, isolated and housebound older people.

Whether you’re looking for someone to keep you company now and then throughout the day, you need some help around the home, you need a little help to stay on top of your daily routine or you need help to pay your utility bills, our befriending service is here to get you the support you need.

We offers two types of befriending services.

  • Face to face befriending

Our volunteer befrienders visit older person in their home, for a chat, to keep them company, or accompany them to hospital or doctor’s appointments.

  • Telephone befriending

A member of our befriending team phone an elderly person at a time agreed by both party for a chat. The service aims to provide a listening ear and a friendly,
